Privacy Policy
Last Updated: May 18, 2026
1. The Core Principle: 100% Local Processing
PolaroidCam was built with privacy as its foundational feature. We do not upload, save, store, or transmit your photos, camera feeds, or generated images to any external servers. All image processing, filtering, and collage generation happens entirely within your local web browser using JavaScript and HTML5 Canvas APIs.
2. Camera and Location Permissions
To use the photobooth or GPS Map Camera features, the site will request access to your device's camera and/or location. This permission is strictly required to display the live video feed on your screen and accurately generate GPS coordinate stamps onto your photos. Because we don't have a backend server for image processing, we cannot "secretly" watch, record, or track your camera and geolocation. Your coordinates are pulled solely to draw them onto the image canvas. When you close the browser tab, camera and location access are immediately terminated.
3. Analytics and Tracking
We use standard web analytics (like Google Analytics) to understand basic website traffic (e.g., how many people visit the site, which layouts are most popular, what countries users are from). This tracking is entirely anonymized and is strictly limited to page views and button clicks. It never includes any visual data, photo contents, or personal identifiable information (PII).
4. Cookies
We may use basic cookies or local storage to save your preferences (like your last selected layout or filter). These are stored locally on your device. You can clear them at any time through your browser's settings.
5. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make significant changes, we will post the updated policy on this page. By continuing to use PolaroidCam, you agree to the revised policy.
6. Contact Us
